CNY Diabetes Education Program Acquires iPro Continuous Glucose Monitor

The iPro Continuous Glucose Monitor (iPro CGM) for healthcare providers is now available at Central New York Diabetes Education Program (CNY Diabetes) at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare (FSLH).

The iPro CGM offers a key clinical insight that will measure, store and report glucose levels in the interstitial fluid. The iPro system is comfortable to wear and easy to use. CGM shows the whole picture of glucose levels, not just snapshots. It provides insight into glucose trends between finger stick testing, leading to improve knowledge and control of diabetes.

Individuals wear the CGM iPro Recorder, a tiny glucose sensor under the skin for three days, where the reader automatically measures and stores glucose values during daily activities such as work, sleep, eating and exercise. Providers can then review the data and results to better tailor diabetes treatment programs for each patient. This may be particularly helpful for patients who experience inconsistent glucose levels. The iPro CGM can be used for people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes to improve overall glucose control.

"We are grateful to be able to offer diagnostic tools such as the iPro CGM to our area to help improve patient outcomes,” said Caroline Jacobus, director of CNY Diabetes.
